Did the '03 S320CDi have a CD changer as standard? If not how easy is it to add one?

Thanks

Surprisingly enough, they were optional, although I have a feeling there won't be that many around without the CD changer.

CD changer

Well my 2002 S320 cdi does not appear to have a cd changer. It is one owner and methinks someone may have removed it.
Where are they located and what would I find if it had been there?

Also can anyone inform me what I should be getting displayed on the dash in Audio mode?Currently it is a line of dashes, though the volume and presets change the radio setting.

As Spin_bowler says, the changer is in the boot, lift up the carpet on the passenger side and you'll see the changer.

What exactly do you mean with "dash"? The COMAND display will show you details of the station you're tuned in, as will the cluster display. Obviously, both for COMAND and for the cluster, what is displayed depends on which system you have selected and the cluster and COMAND displays can be operated independently, so for example COMAND could show the radio screen while the cluster is showing the trip computer.

Use the COMAND buttons to select a different system in the COMAND display and the steering wheel buttons to select a system for display in the cluster.

You should see the name or frequency of the radio station you are listening to.
I think the dashes suggest that the cluster doesn't know you have an audio source connected. Seems strange. Has it always been like this? As far as I know, you need to get hooked up to STAR to tell the cluster what type of head unit you have etc. but why it doesn't aleady know this, I don't know.

Maybe a cable has come loose???

Someone here will advise better.
