Hi
I've just bought my car a C180 2012, the pro lem is the SatNav volume is muted there's a red cross on the speaker on the screen. I can't find out how to unmute it, I have tried altering the volume but to no avail any ideas would be appreciated.

Press and hold this button to mute and unmute, rather annoyingly I think you have to do it when he/she is actually speaking

As above. The volume needs to be adjusted during a SatNav message, I.e. while the lady is talking. You can press the button to repeat the last instruction, and then adjust the volume when you hear the SatNav message again.

BTW, your 2012 car will have either the entry-level Audio20 infotainment system with the Becker Map Pilot navigation processor in the glove compartment, or the higher-end COMAND NTG4.5 unit with built-in navigation on internal HDD. Do you know which one you have?

Hi,
No don't know which system is installed will have a look this morning, but the books that came with the car are for the Audio 20 system.

If so, then search the Internet for instructions manual for Becker Map Pilot for Mercedes.

And, you'll have the Becker Map Pilot navigation processor in the glove compartment, you can remove it from the car and connect it to a PC using a Mini-USB cable (not to be confused with the smaller Micro-USB) and then update both the firmware (free) and the maps (chargeable).

Hi
I have tried holding the mute button but unfortunately it didn't work on mine, so really stumped nothing on a y of the system menu's.

It could be just a short press to unmute, it could be that the volume level has been set to zero. There is an old thread on here were the chap had to press mute and then press it again to get it to work

Sorry it didn’t work, I guess you would have had a look in the manual by now as well

I have a (very old) command so I guess it must work differently

It might be a tick box in the Becker Map Pilot Settings menu.
