Usually it is up to the painter to decide. Since they give the warranty. As far as I am concerned it would be the whole side or whole rear and or the trunk lid as well. Depends on the spot.
In paint matching there is no such thing as a small spot.

damb good match, cant tell difference, I only use the one bodyshop now, ive always had to go back when ive used other places. too much of a perfectionist.

Try chips away franchise.I had a scratch on metallic black,a deep scratch,probablly a shopping trolley.You would never know it was there and in Glasgow cost less than £100.
