service/airbag reset tool

hi all, i have seen some service/airbag reset tools on ebay for mb 38 pin diagnostic ports that are only £20, are they compatible with my 1999 c220 cdi w202 ?
are they any good ? is there a cheaper way to reset the srs airbag light ?

Hello,, if you have cleared the fault or reason why the lamp came on and indie will do this very cheap for you

My local indie charged me £36 +vat for clearing all the faults on my W203 with his Star computer (my faults were caused by a dead battery and charging without disconnecting). As i know nothing about W202's i am not sure if you need Star to clear faults. I'm sure someone will tell me if you do.

i have bought the car with the srs light on so i dont know if there is a fault or wether the light came on when the previous owners changed the battery.
i think i will give the ebay reset tool a go.

The chances are is that there is a fault, normally its the passenger seat pad or wiring under the seat

is my port 16 pin or 38 pin ? where is the diagnostic port on a 1999 c220 cdi ?

My info shows that you only have the 38 pin
