i then called microsoft helpline and was told its too old and buy a version sp2 or sp3

one of our (fully licenced) versions of XP Pro is from the inititial release - we've upgraded that to SP2 and SP3 - too old? Nah, that can't be right

being given a sp2 disc but also going to try the sliptream disc as i fancy deing able to have the operating system and drivers all on the same disc

I've got one here (SP3) you can have - should work as it is the OEM version I think

since people dont read the thread before posting,my version of xp pro is sp1.
you can no longer add the sp2 or sp3 update to my version as it wont let you do it.microsoft have said i need the xp pro sp2 or sp3 version as my sp1 version is too old and no longer usable so buy another copy or upgrade to vista.i have an origional vista but still need xp for certain programmes.

I find that strange as i upgraded an SP1 using the download link i supplied on friday and it worked perfectly.

However , it may have been service pack 1a so i aplologise if that was the case.
