Servicing: Why Keep Full Mbsh?

Good will, whats that from MB, it sucks, 2 struts at 21k miles and nothing from MB, not even the 10% that I can get from buying the parts, so a bill for£2680 I will never use MB outlet again.

Is that fair? Does your car have fullMBSH? If so it is most unusual, possibly even unique to have a genuine goodwill claim turned down at 21k miles.

If it does not have Full MBSH, then the turning down of the 'goodwill' claim because of that makes my point that it is worth having Full MBSH.

Just as an aside both my Mercedes were bought as approved used cars from MB dealers, and both had been serviced outside the dealer network previously.

Hmm. That is something I might have taken up with MBUK. If you came to having a corrosion claim how would you stand?

I thought all approved cars had to be fully backed by MBUK, certainly under the Signature scheme they did.

There is no reason why that should not be so surely? You can part ex an MB with an MB dealer even though it has not got full MBSH and they will do all necessary checks and work on it before giving it the 12 month warranty if they decide to retail it rather than trade it. They might prefer you to have FullMBSH but they don't insist.

If it is under 3 years old the 3 year warranty from new will be unaffected, but MobiloLife will be affected, of course.

Of coarse my car has a full service history and only had 2 services up to the time of going in for the 3rd and MOT on which it failed. It has been back for re calls twice

I Emailed, nothing back in 10 days so I then wrote, and received a phone call saying that they cant help as the car is 5 years old.

Apart from the estimate £2600 I lost £100 on the tunnel ticket, wasted £150 on sat nav maps and £600 on a holiday booking plus the holiday itself.

I will never recommend any dealer again, and I will direct everyone I can away from them.

I am assuming you didnt have travel insurance then ...

I would have also insisted in having their reply in writing - then when I had received it I would have asked for them to confirm (again in writing) that they had never paid out a goodwill payment for a car of 5 years.

Yes I paid out £108 RAC cover as well, right now I am being given some assistance by a good friend, and I am awaiting the outcome.

Thank you
