Setting clock on 2006 SL350 R230

On fitting a new battery I tried to reset the clock. My handbook states that to reset a car like mine with Command and Sat Nav that this must be done through the radio. In fact there is no facility to change the time in 'settings'
My problem is apparently fairly common in that when changing the minutes this can only be done in 30 minute increments. It has been suggested that the clock will reset automatically when it receives a signal but no such luck after 4 days.
Is disconnecting the battery at midnight the only answer? Any help much appreciated.

This is exactly how to do it. I had to set mine the other day.

The Merc system is not particularly intuitive.
