Sadly no.

A member here was even offered financial compensation for the increased mpg, when the dealer carried out the update in spite of being told not to do so - i.e., the dealers can't roll back the software.

However, engine tuners (not dealers) might be able to do it, but they'll charge the customer for this, obviously.

Isn't this what we are all claiming in court for , the diesel gate scandal 😂

Whilst its possible for us to roll back the software, its using the tuning side of the kit no STAR/Xentry. The main issue is that Xentry will look at the car as a whole and update all modules. Sometimes, an update in one module requires another module to be updated as well.

EG Engine ECU update says that the TCU needs to be updated as well. They both get updated at the same time and have a reliance on each other. If you then roll back the engine ecu, odd stuff can happen, depending on the changes.

Engine ECUs and gearbox ECUs (to a certain extent) are easy to flash any version to, as long as you can get the version you need, but other modules are much harder and may also be involved in this update path (like ESP modules, ABR etc)

Sadly no? Do you want clean air in cities or not?
It's because of the cheating - OEM cheat maps and re-maps deleting emissions kit - that ULEZs are gaining traction. You spend a lot of your time defending them.

I suppose you do have a valid point.

I was thinking more of the legalities of making unauthorised modifications to someone else's property.

But yes, I do agree that the Dieselgate update should be fitted to all affected cars. How to legally achieve this, is a separate question.
