Shock absorbers

Hi all,
How difficult, or easy, is it to change the front shock absorbers on the merc. Are there any special tools needed? Mine need changing and was thinking of buying them and fitting them myself. It will give me something to do!

I'm not sure exactly which model you have , but on most it is not difficult as long as you can raise the car a little and have a few basic tools ( socket set +spanners ) .

I've done shocks before but there's a bit of plumbing and electrics also involved on some of these models. I took some pics of mine recently because its the easiest way to see into the wheel arch. It looks pretty straightforward until you get to the ESP stuff.
