Should I keep or trade in my 2013 C63 estate?

I was/am a total die hard W204 C63 enthusiast, proved by the fact that I owned two of them over over the last ten years. I never thought I would sell my last one, especially after reading a few initial reports on its replacement, the W205 C63 Twin Turbo. Then when I last took the car in for a service at my local dealership, I was offered a test drive of a late 2018 W205 C63 Premium Model, expecting to be a little disappointed......... How wrong I was, it’s moved on so much from the W204, and is better in every way. A week later and I was driving a W205 C63, not the one I test drove, but a slightly later coupe and I’m still loving it, especially after having MSL do their magic on it and now producing much more power with a simple stage one tune.

Is it better than my previous W204 C63’s....... Yes. Is it the perfect C63 ...... No.

What would make it the perfect C63 ....... if all of the mechanics were put into a W204 body

Looks great in silver 👍🏻

Can't really help you. But talk of W204 C63's becoming true 'classic cars' ..Not for a very , very long time, too many of them around.. By the time they have real value they will be outlawed on British roads , as will almost everything else with a powerful ICE engine.

Only my opinion. I have toyed with selling my S203 C55 AMG and getting a C63 but I just do not want to part with it just yet . I had thought about keeping my (stock) C55 and messing around with a C63 at the same time .

But the ensuing divorce would be just too expensive ..:(

I'm in the same position, should I swap my trouble-free s203 c55 for a riskier c63? Well I keep thinking about it, it feels inevitable

Is this the same "half engine" that walks the M156 in performance ?💪;)

Stock on stock it doesn't walk it at all.

Definitely doesn't sound as good as that glorious M156 💥🚀👍

I'm sorry to say it does.
But think what you like.

Not according to the numbers it doesn't.

You can have speed factor. I don't particularly give a monkeys.

Now the exhaust factor is a let down come on. Newer tech, but they couldn't improve that exhaust noise over that brute 156 🚀💥

I make that 1-1 👍😉

It's going " extra time"

What numbers would they be?
Look at the real figures.
Pick any M156 C63. Even the Black Series.
Then put it up against a 2018 E63S with half an engine.
Every AMG engine outperforms its predecessor.

I’ve said it before and I’ll almost certainly say it again, we definitely need an MBClub shootout on the dragstrip.

Shoot out

Sound off

We all know who wins what 😉👍💥🚀

It's gone to a " penalty shoot out"

And the M156 wins because it went in a flash and sounded like a rocket 🚀😂😂💥👍

I've just read the 2012 c63 coupe 0-60 3.7 sec quarter mile 12.1 same as a black series that can't be right ? Or can it ? ?

When you say "sound off" do you mean the loudest, or which sound you prefer?

Every AMG engine outperforms its predecessor.

Except, ironically, the M156, which in the W211 was actually slightly slower off the line than its predecessor the M113K.

It certainly wins the noise battle, though; a bit like its fan boys...

I have certainly never disagreed that the M156 sounds fantastic. Beats almost every model I've heard.
Tom's car with the resonator removed is great.

Put an M156 E63 next to an E63 4.0 Biturbo or even the 5.5 and its no contest. But someone won't or can't accept it.
Tom, did you read the post above by Jim Green who has owned both and come down heavily on the later version.

I'm out of this one. I can argue this 'till I'm blue in the face but its waste of my time.
I hope the OP isn't put off by any of this nonsense and drives a 213 and comes to a decision.

That is one owners opinion, doesn't make it right, and it doesn't make it right for the OP. We all have our own favoured tastes on our cars. That's what makes it the good banter forum it is. Do you generally think I don't believe the newer AMG vehicles are fantastic All round packages. Ofcourse they are. And for your interest I do like the exhaust note the 5.5 TT makes. I just think the m156 is more deep less forced sounding.

You don't have to keep putting yourself out of threads Roger, just to justify your opinions.

No doubt the M157 is an amazing more tunable engine than that of the 156. If an owner wanted to add to the 156 it can be done at a massive amount of money. But it can be done and is an option if a owner wanted to take that route.

I generally don't think any of the E class AMG since the 156 engine sound as good. But obviously have improved in other aspects.
