Hi All

Lurking and reading whilst planning/researching purchase. I'm new to the MB sceen so please excuse the silly questions...

Looking at 2006-2009 E320 diesel, auto. From the car itself without access to any equipment is it possible to get the car to tell you when it was last serviced and or will be due service next?

yes, on the dashboard. go to temperature display, and press up a few times iirc. not much use as it can also be reset via a similar button pushing exercise.

buy a cheap (5 quid) bluetooth OBD adaptor and download a simple reader to get some of the basic information from the car. possibly. but dont be scared, they all have faults......

With the known reg of the car, contact mb saying you're interested in a service plan, tell them the reg and they can tell you which service is next etc. I only know this because I rang them up with the reg of my car after putting the deposit on it to enquire about a service plan

Unorthodox way of doing it but only way I can think of doing it without owning the car or being sat in the car in question and can be done from home

If one Merc dealership won't tell you ring another local one

Just say you've bought the car and inquiring about getting a service and want to know the last time it was done by an approved mb stealership.

Normally they are spot on with stuff like this.

Great stuff, thanks for the info guys.
