SL 500 - panoramic roof, what is the hole for?

Hope someone can help me please.
I recently bought a 2002 SL500 - car is immaculate and totally delighted with it...

BUT - it has a panoramic roof and just between the glass roof and the light console on the actual roof element, there is an open hole which is threaded - and seems to be missing a handle (?) or button or grommet??

Does anyone know what it is for? Or what is missing?
The previous owner had no idea...

Iirc that's for the manual release and should have a cap on it

So a grommet would do, and presumably this is used to 'unwind' if the roof gets stuck in the closed position?

Welcome to the forum! I have the same car and as Jay said, it's just a small plastic cap. Just get one from the dealer and then at least the colour match will be perfect. Surely it can only be pennies
