The above is also not working properly & needs to be replaced which I would like to buy new. Part number:2307500185

Any ideas?/

Go to a mercedes main dealer armed with your registration certificate and photo ID and they should be able to order a replacement lock to match your existing key.

Wouldn't it just be the lock mechanism replacement & not the key barrel?? Actually the diaphragm is leaking & so not sucking the boot shut!

I wrongly assumed the key didn't turn, sorry.

Describing the problem might in detail might help. What happens when you try and lock or unlock the boot?

The link was just for illustration of the part, I’m not suggesting you buy from the US, when you add the shipping costs and UK import duty there wont be any savings, as suggested earlier, bring your VIN (vehicle Identifying Number)to your local MB dealer.

Or order on line as Howard suggests in his link. Just noticed that you are in Malta, do you have a Mercedes-Benz dealer in Malta?

I will try the link....yes we have a local MB dealer but it will most probably cost more here & take forever!

Trying to get in touch with MSL also.

What part of the unit is actually leaking, have you considered a repair with some kind of rubber seal?

Typical rubber membrane below, the one in my picture is off a W202, if you attempt to open the diaphragm be aware that the White plastic is extremely brittle and easily broken.

Can you actually repair the seal membrane? Interesting to know as I've heard these do fail occasionally.

Just ordered a new one from ECS.

Rubber can be repaired, if it is the rubber membrane that’s leaking, a lot would depend on how bad the leak is and where it is located on the rubber membrane, you would really need to see the nature of the leak before you could determine if it could be fixed.
