SL 55 AMG - Really Noisy Fuel Pump

Hi everyone. 2004 SL 55 AMG Komp - The Fuel pump which sits in the bulkhead just behind the drivers seat has suddenly become really noisy. It is working fine - but now really loud . The only time it is quiet is when turning right??

The main dealer says they are not totally sure what to do. Merc HQ says possibly fit a pressure sensor £110 + and this may help but they can't guarantee it. Has anyone else had this problem and found a cure? Would really appreciate any help. Thanks. Tim

Hello, new to MB club, my SL55 2002 has just started making the same, stops when going round right, booked in to merc dealer later in the week, did you ever get to the bottom of the cause on yours - and the fix?

Update – after car now been to the dealer that have confirmed that it is more than likely to be the pressure regulator and have ordered the replacement part for fitting, cost £270 – if this does not work will need fuel pump replacing – cost £290! However they have confirmed that if first fix does not work will only be charged for pump – and if that does not work – refund that as well. Will update when car been back to dealer.
