sl r107 air vent removal

Hi all - does anyone know how to remove/reinstall the air vents from the dashboard of an R107? I want to give the the chrome rings around the vents a good clean and polish, and would like to remove them if possible for a thorough job.

Nightmare of a job without taking the dash out. Spring clip things are buried way in there. Get them out and you'll never get them back.
