My point being that the yoof working in halfords likely has no qualifications or expertise to advise on anything mechanical.

Yes, I confess I am guilty of generalising.

However, many a time I have been in a queue in halfords listening to a customer in front being given shockingly poor and completely wrong advice by staff.

I only go there as its local and I have a trade card which allows for substantial price reduictions.


This hospital porter... was he between jobs or was this a carrer choice?

Unfortunately the poor chap had suffered a number of breakdowns during his studies, he was awarded the doctorate but was in no state to use his knowledge in any related field. He was, however a most engaging conversationalist and I spent many times playing chess with him (and usually losing!) during quiet night time on-call periods.

SL320 front grill

I've kept the SL. Some advice please:

i) What options do I have for a different front grill or should I keep the original
ii) Can different colour calipers be fitted? Black/red/silver

I am having a lot of detailing work done, and the wheels powder coated and diamond cut.

The car already looks great and I can't wait to see it in mint condition as the guys doing it are the best.

Thoughts on grille and calipers much appreciated.

Just paid up for some fantastic detailing, wheels diamond cut, hood refurb, body is immaculate . Will post pics soon! Loving my SL again. Thanks chaps - as you say expensive cars but absolutely worth it in my opinion.
