SL500 BHP figures?

Thank you Birdman, Bobby and stats, I will enjoy mine in the morning even more :D:D:p:D:D

I've been quoted £1,000 for a new set of discs and pads all round on the E55 (2001).

What would you pay a main dealer television (if you didn't get them trade and do it yourself!) for the same deal on your SL500?

Malcolm,

He has a 2004 E320Cdi estate as his mile muncher and he loves that, had it since new. He sold an SLK he had since new in 1998 to get this SL for his weekend toy.

He was looking at a new SLK, then the SL55's (hence the plate..) but decided he doesn't need the power so looked at SL350's also a lot of the SL55's looked 'well' used which seemed odd.

This turned up in the lakes at a dealers and very good price.

He is more than happy with it, Its already been over to Europe and on a run he can see close on 30mpg.

I took it round the block and its a lovely car. Looks and sounds great with some nice toys in it.

He priced it up new and I'm sure it was close on 80K !!!
could buy sl 55 amg plate seen it for sale today£9000 i think

That would be each wheel?

So £236 +VAT and fitting for pads. And then the four discs at about £288 front pair (they are 'handed' left/right) and rear pair at around £60. All plus VAT and fitting. Say £700 for parts plus 2 or 3 hours labour? So £1000. Or am I too pessimistic.:(

No that was front and rear set.

I will look at some alternative disc like DENSO I will need to know at some point.

It should not take much more than ½ hour per wheel to do the disc and pads together

Good stuff. Well before I put reach for my wallet maybe I should ask you what spec/prices to go for.
Trouble is, my garage will only use MB-supplies parts because of probs they can encounter with non-standard parts, or so they say...but then again, we are talking brakes, not air filters.

Think yourself lucky you've got a GT, F1 box eat's clutches for breakfast.

I would do but I've just had the clutch done on mine.
