Hi all

Have just had the Merc serviced at a Merc approved dealership. Had them do the bare minimum in order to get the book stamped, leaving a couple of additional items that I am going to have done separately, as follows:

- right head camshaft cover leaking oil requires new gasket.

- all tyres worn low 95% worn in places 2.0mm and n/s/f on legal limit on outer edge.

Couple of questions:

1/ is the camshaft an urgent job?

2/ what is this going to cost me? Merc garage was going to charge £145.11 inc. for the camshaft cover gasket and £860.00 inc. for new tyres (4 Dunlops S9000). NB I am in London.

3/ Any views on Klasse of Fulham?

Any insights appreciated.

Hi george,, on the camshaft leak if it is only tiny, then you do not have to do it, if the oil consumption is not alot.

Did they check that the bolts were tight,(do not over tighten)
