Fitted last night, Staggered SL500 wheels with

225/40/18 front
255/35/18 rear

10mm hubcentric spacers used on the rears to push them out to arches.

Fronts went straight on and fitted nicely over my S Class calipers.

Happy with that.

Tyres must be pretty stretched as the standard rears are 285, front 255.

C.

Yeah a little bit, not as much as I'd thought there would be.

When the tyre monkey fitted the 225 to the rear wheel there was a hell of a lot of stretch going on. So I clipped him him round the ear and told him to do again and properly this time... muppet

The tyres are all Bridgestone potenza RE050a and have a rim protector so the actual wheel doesn't sit out past the tyre which is what I wanted.

Will go for 265/35 next though as I want it to look low and wide.

Again... daily driver, I'm not 21 (actually I'm not even 31), it's a road car. the only time it's ever gonna see a track is when I tow my track bike there with it.

Coil overs, would be the only way to make it lower and I'm not a fan on pot holed roads.

You are correct, but sl sized tyres would have looked too balloon like. I'll add a picture so you see how they sit.

Sorry but I do not agree with you , I am advancing
in years , have a lowered W210 .
With the correct combination of springs and dampers
the ride does not have to be harsh .

And this "Daily Driver " that you keep mentioning ,
most cars are and mine certainly is .

A W210 has a much more comfort oriented suspension setup than a 209.

Even the most hard avantgarde setup for the 210 is still more comfortable than the softest elegance on a 209...

Mine is only the **********e not the sport and its plently stiff enough I thankyou please.

Heres the rear stretch, I think I will change to 265's when these are worn out.
