Was this the one posted on here? The AMG show car or something??

I love that colour

Yep, same one.

i think that interior is amazing, i get enough abuse from lady friends for mine but to pull up in that they'd think you were a pimp, its amazing!

if only i had a bit of spare cash!!

It's the one that was on eBay a while ago, so I guess it didn't sell...

A 1991 imported LHD car with non-original (possibly replica) wheels and a marmite colour scheme. Undisclosed mileage, and only 11 services in 20 years (it would be due one every 12 months).

£14,000 - 18,000 is ridiculous.

What's wrong with '1991 imported LHD...'

I don't see how that impacts value at all.....LHD is how these cars started life on the drawing board so the ergnomics are better on LHD cars. On a run-of the mill SL, yes, LHD would be worth less, but on a special edition car such as the SL60, the detail of steering wheel location has zero impact on the value. Personally, i'd pay more for a LHD specialist car, as i know several other Mercedes collectors would as well.

My Brabus 6.9 w140 is a 1991 imported LHD....:D

You got lucky there, that must have been the bargain of the year
I was asked by a forum member to go and have a look at that car,and I refused
I had a feeling that if I would drive it,I would want it

Bargain of the century i say....quite how a big fat w140 can run rings around slimmer powerful Mercs is breathtakingly enjoyable.....0-60 in 5.5 secs for a 2.3 tonner fat Merc is something else !

The adjustable suspension with the Lorinser springs makes it quite a good handler too.

The car is everything one could want in a Merc, i honestly rate it as the best Merc in my stable !

Find another one, if you like the colour and have the cash........

The brooklands auction also contains 2 SWB 600's one of which is only estimated at £30k or thereabouts. The other was owned by Elvis and has an estimate of £200k. I'd have a 600 if I was feeling a little reckless! But sanity prevails and school fees come first!

It didn't make the £11,000 Buy it now on ebay so how on earth they think it will make 14-18K I have no idea

Where a car was sold in the UK as RHD (which the SL60 was) an imported LHD version will be less desirable to most buyers here, hence it will either be harder to sell or (more usually) will need a lower price to shift.

You can tell me I'm wrong when this one does go for £18k ;)

Specialised models that only existed as LHD are a different matter.

Yep, agree with that actually - the difference being where the model was offered as RHD, it will be more appealing to most.

I do fall into the minority though, who wholesomely prefer LHD....so much more fun :bannana:. Wish all my cars were LHD.

Re price...you tend to find that the likes of Barons and Brooklands put over optomistic guide prices on a lot of their stuff, so I suspect that come the day, it may well sell below the guide price, as do a lot of the other cars being sold.
