SLC 250d going into N when parked

Once you are all sorted you will love the torque of the engine, the sublime nine speed box and the stable and secure handling.
It’s definitely a little ‘cosy’ inside, and the seats aren’t as comfortable as they could be.
You won’t be so keen on the stop/start system as that is a little clunky with this engine.
Hope you enjoy it 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Thank goodness, that's reassuring. Here I was panicking, thank you. We are going to take her in to MB and get transmission serviced anyway and check her over. Thanks to everyone who replied. She's on her way home :)

Good news.

As for the transmission service, it should really have been done in January, i.e. being 2 months short of the 5 years interval is not a reason for skipping it - my point is that it will be a good idea to try and confirm that indeed it wasn't done in the January service, before rushing to get it done now - it's not a cheap exercise, probably ~£600 at the dealer (or half that at an independent specialist). And, if it needs doing, at this point I would personally just leave it till the next service in January (only 2 months away) and get it doen then. Hope this helps.

Thank you 😊 I'm soooo excited. I absolutely love these cars and looking forward to the warmer months to go topless...obviously the car I mean 😀 my first MB and having wanted one for years I finally get my pocket rocket. Always been adverse to autos but I've been told I'll never go back to manual driving. She'll be spoilt rotten. I'll post some more pics when she's home

Thanks markjay. Sound advice as she won't be doing many miles anyway. I currently have a CRV and only done 560 miles this year alone but I'm sure I'll want to drive my new girl a lot more.....roof down shades on 😎

She's home! We feel a right pair of plonkers. The guy has shown us the 2 clicks needed on the transmission, we were only doing a gentle shift that's why it was going to N each time. What a wally! 🤣😖 think the handbook will be a bit of bedtime reading this week. Thanks again for all the comments and advice, great forum so far!

Wait until you try brake hold!
