Slk 170 brakes

Has anyone up rated the front brakes on a Slk 230k? Calipers and discs from another Merc? Have fitted new pads and discs all round, they just do not have the power of modern Mercs
Any assistance would be appreciated

Have you tried bleeding the brakes?

I've upgraded the disc's/pads/calipers on my CLK (209) think your's will be the same as (208) but I fitted S500 (2002 model) 4 pot calipers and 330mm CLK (209) sport disc's amazing difference, like night and day. Even with std Pagid pads.

I feel your pain with the standard brakes, Shockingly bad to say the least.

thanks for the info, have some cl 500 calipers and a set od sl500 129 discs, will see if I can make theses fit first, before I splash out on the discs from a clk209.
