SLK55 -- what next

Now that the C55 is history production wise, the SLK is the only vehicle using the 5.5 V8 N/A form.

Does anyone know when an update for the SLK range is due? Must be soon since it's 3 years or so since it was launched.

What will happen to the AMG model? Will the new 6.3 litre AMG engine fit?

They'll all be melted down and remoulded into lego bricks many of which will be used for breaking into lotus elise's, A lego brick and a five year old is about all it takes you see....

IIRC I read a while ago that the SLK will continue with the N/A 5.4 V8 and the SL will continue with the S/C 5.4 V8 until the end of the model lifecycle.

How true that is I don't know. The article mentioned something to do with being an intrinsic part of the cars character.

At the time I thought it probably meant the cost/benefit didn't stack up!!

I guess one of the benenfits of being handbuilt is that it is a little more flexible than an automated production line, and can allow for this relatively easily.
