Small oil leak!

W210 E320 petrol, noticed as I was leaving for work this morning a small tea plate size oil slick!! Coming from the front drivers side of the engine

Any likely culprits???

Is it definitely engine oil not power steering or transmission?

Now you have said that, it was quite clear?? Yes, I suppose it could be power steering fluid? Not transmision, too far to the front of the car.

It does not have to leak very much to start making the pump noisey.

It could be transmission. There are ATF pipes that go to the front for cooling. What colour was the "oil"?

It was dark, but clear if you know what I mean Is ATF pink or something.

The more I think about it, the more I think it is power steering fluid!! My engine oil is much darker, I recently checked the oil and it was quite dark. Car has done 165K

Check the power steering reservoir. Small black square bottle usually located near the belt at the front of the engine bay.
