Dear All,

I am a new member of the Forum and this is my first thread.

I have recently discovered the Forum and I am sure I will enjoy my time greatly!

I own a ML 320 re.09 facelift and apart from the usual issues found on those big vehicles, I enjoy driving it.

Although the car is in very good condition and well looked after I have noticed some small marks and scuffing on the front bumper (no crack though). There is also a small and superficial dent on the front wing (about 10cm long) but the paint there is not chipped away.

Could anyone advise me as to the best (and most economical :)) ways to fixed those little issues please?

Many thanks for any assistance you may bring

Cheers:):)

It may help with personal recommendations if you say which part of the country you are from.

Hi

Thank you gentlemen for your quick responses.

I live in Kent (Tunbridge Wells).

I contacted Chips Away last night and the local representative is coming tomorrow to quote on the job. I will let you know what he says.

So far so good...

Cheers

Alex

Here we go. Chip Away quotes me £300 + VAT for doing the entire work (front bumper both sides and rear bumper one side). Also included is the polishing where there are some small marks. Not bad I believe...

If they are only small scuffs these may come out easily without the need for a repair. I had some done by my local indy with a rag and some thinners (don't try it if you don't know what you're doing!)

I was sure it would need a repair because they were quite bad marks but only took him a couple of minutes. I put some wax on and it was as good as new!

Any chance of some before, then after pics? I have a couple of scuffs and would be interested to see how they comapre.

You wold be surprised how many scuffs can be simply polished out by hand. All you need is some rubbing compound, a couple of decent cloths and a jar of elbow grease!

No problem for the pics.

I have decided that I would also approach my local MB dealer to compare prices. Not a brainer, I'm sure, but still curious to see what they have on offer.

As anyone ever used MB ?

Alex

Don't use MB Brentford bodyshop.

the likes of chips away and smart repairs
are good in their own right. especially for selling.

i would never them use for any car i was keeping as the methods materials and where the work takes palce will not stand the test of time.

i will admit there are some out there that do a good job and will last quite well. most you'd be lucky to last a year.
