Does anybody have any experience of these types of repair ?, someone has opened a door onto the front wing of my C240 and it has left a small dent right on the swage line.

Yes I use them all the time for dents and dings. The key is to find someone who is good, there are cowboys out there.

I asked my local MB dealership who they use. (All Dealerships use these people at sometime). I got the chaps details and gave them a ring, came out to the house and fixed it in 15 minutes. Mine charges £40 per panel.

I do know he only does a very local area, so unless you live in Midlands (Coventry area) he probably wont travel.

So my advice is telephone your Merc dealership (Service Dept)

these companies are very good - I used 'Revive' a national franchised operation on my 4 year old E class for some abrasion scratches on bumpers and a small dent. I was pleased with the work - it is acceptable and almost invisible, but for the price much cheaper than a body shop.

One tip - when getting a idea of cost over the phone, don't say it's a mercedes, say 'my car' or something - I saved £20.

The problem with a Merc is the metal is thicker so it is harder for them to do, but you do get a better finish!

Hubby was given a leaflet when he took the car in for the A service yesterday. A company called StarRepairs is listed. It has an 0800 telephone number that you can called although it did list a few of the London MB dealer addresses. Among the things it do are dents and wheel refurbishment. Can't remember what the rest are as I don't have the leaflet in front of me. Not sure about the cost. Was told you need to call the 0800 number for that.

Ive used the local paint less dent removal company on my C and my old 190 and they have done a perfect job every time.
I was talking to the guy who did the dents on the C (parking dents already done when I bought the car) and he likes mercs (he owns a 190) as he claimed the metal is easier to work with and doesnt stretch as much as most modern cars (that are made of tin foil :D)
I would recommend them to anyone.
The company I use is called Dent-Master.
