Hi All,

Today when I parked the car on the drive (s211 e320cdi AG estate-53reg) after a 10 mile trip there seemed to be smoke come out from under the bonnet.

I quickly got out pulled the bonnet up and nothing.

STRANGE.....the bonnet was freezing cold above the AC boc area (passengers side near windscreen).....really was cold, even the engine was fully hot!

Was the smokesteam/vapour I saw just coming from the AC area?

The AC is always on in the car....

...is this all normal?

As above keep an eye on it.

Most likely just damp causing some steam to vent off.

My Range Rover also did this. That was on fire and went up like a Roman Candle. Not that I wish to cause any alarm. Be very careful pulling open the bonnet if you think it is alight. The intake of air can cause a big whoosh.

Is the radiator ok?

The radiator is at the front of the car, the vapour/steam is coming from near the passenger side wiper. When you open the bonnet the only thing which is near where the vapour is coming from is the A/C black box.

Strange.

Any cooling system related steam will eventually cause a drop in coolant level - check the level when the car is cold.
