Following on from Howard's gearbox thread and to keep Olly happy here's a thread for the SL, which has started smoking during and after a good run.

It seems to waft up from the back of the engine bay, and lasts for 5mins after parking up.

Current suspects in my mind are either the sound deadening on the bonnet breaking up and burning off on hot engine parts, or a g/box leak that's dripping onto the manifold.

I can forsee a trip to Horndean in the near future

Yes, although that would be a sore point that will not be expanded on any further (thankfully I'm still laughing though )

Olly, probably best to get it booked in sometime soon I guess. It's more annoying than anything else, but would like to get it sorted.

Make sure you start at the back end of the car then..
