I just wanted them to check it out and make sure all is as it should be, I asked for the tracking and glovebox to be looked at and the poor infra red door handle receiver.

Upon collection they said it was a lovely car and had been looked after underneath as well as the bits you see, all bits are fixed and to be honest Im thrilled with it.

The roof is a little noisy but im told the glass roofs are noisier but I will add some felt to certain parts to reduce knocks a little.

VISEOO fitted and after a few phonebook issues its now 100% (my iphone software was not the latest version)

I could do with hooking the iphone to Comand but for now will use the glovebox AUX input, not perfect but acceptable (the Bose is superb)

Detailer is booked for a clay and a polish / wax / seal next week

On another forum a youngish chap had just bought a Silver Sl55 with turbine alloys and was having a few issues with it, in his "just bought this" posting he mentioned he went to see the car I have and it was over his budget (later in his post he mentioned spending £15k on a tuning package) however I believe you buy a SL55 on mileage and condition or it will cost you, I paid a tad over £30k and I realise I could have got an 04 for as low as £22k but I didnt lol

WHY are you parked in a disabled bay ? ? ? ? ?

Parked in a disabled space, no blue badge...

tut tut

Only kidding, lovely looking motor, the wheels IMHO set it off

If you look in past posts all my cars are parked in our second disabled bay away from the front door, DST has 2 disabled spots and in the 6 tears we have been here only on two days have we been visited by a bluebadge holder so the chance of two blue badgers coming at the same time is unlikely BUT should it happen I will never again do it :-)

Lol my old boss at my old work used to do it, and I thought it was funny

Stunning car Dave, and Fantastic Colour and Wheels, i would say that though. The only thing that's missing is Distronic.

Hello looks good...

Who do you use as an Indy?

Some of you may remember I got a R129 SL320 3 years ago, I bought it from a dealer who was selling it as a sell on car so no warranty but after a few days it was apparent it was not as it should be, I took it to a upmarket indie who didnt have a clue (gearbox / valve block ...) then reluctantly I took it to Roadrange Wirral as I was dreading the bill. When it went in they cleaned the fuel intakes and other stuff to no real avail and I drove it for a while but it wasnt right and Im a very fussy owner I like cars right. Anyway I had a word with Steve (or Rob) the service managers at RR Wirral who didnt see my car when it first came in - Rob (or Steve) said it was the MAF and if it wasnt I didnt have to pay for it - it was and the SL320 ran creamily afterwards (slow but creamily slow lol) - anyhoo RR Wirral shut and Rob and Steve set up as MB Wirral in Hoylake shortly after and they are doing well and deservedly so.

I knew taking the SL into them would get an honest appraisal and as they think its a good car then Im chuffed, I told them to report and do whatever it needed but the bill was small.

Right now I am looking forward to the weekend, maybe top off, Shakatak on the Bose and my best cap sleeve t shirt just covering my gut as I cruise the neon lit mean streets of West Kirby with the Mrs knitting away in the passenger seat.

Hi Dave - saw it down at Rob & Steve's this week and it does look mint ! They said it was in top notch condition - well done :-)

All you need is a nice steering wheel, will see if I can find the details for the one I've got. The ebay Swedish ones won't fit a pre 06 car without heavy mods to the paddles.

Top car Dave. Love the wheels. Think they would look better on my CLK sport cab tho.
Great purchase

If yu're having roof noise issues have you seen Richard's recent post about roof lube?

Need to take my new pride & joy to them next week for a check over and check all is updated as should be - bought it in N Wales
Any idea what they might charge to run a full check?
