So what did YOU do to improve your Mercedes this weekend?

Stroked the bonnet, had a couple of smokes on the drive, watched it. Went back in!

very very old??

You must be very very old...I couldn't get it that low.:D

No i am not very very old  lol...

Im 34 and my wife 27,

I guess im just a typical Ballymena man pricing round for a good bargain!

Checked the fluid levels, topped up with screenwash then gave the wheels a good scrubbing with alloy cleaner. They look great now but not for long in this weather.

I went in a friendds BMW 645Ci and drove away realising how good my wonderful S211 is :thumb: (see separate thread).

Got a new mortgage approved and filled her up with diesel then just looked at her for a couple of hours. Went in had a coffee and came out for another look but this time gave her a stroke - tomorrow I might just get in her and drive... :D:thumb::thumb:

Weekend

Had to work Saturday so no time to play Merc, but on Sunday had a nice trip to Hayling Island and back nice day. BUT THEN rain  before I could wrap her up warm in the garage :(

Found and cured a bloody annoying rattle from the dash area by the steering wheel thats been doing my head in for about a month......yay

Blimey, that's some consumption problem you've got.....

Backed the bus into a concrete post, so that'll be £2k of improvements!

Rubbed some linseed oil into my faded door handles. They look as good as new.

Sprayed all the rubber seals with silicon spray and down the windows. Defo worthwhile doing. Cleaned every inch of it like every weekend and now it looks brand new :-) sat and admired!

Im surprised how cheap you got it. I am thinking of moving back to Belfast and I`m dreading asking for a quote especially with my car being chipped. Which insurance company was this quote from?:)

Removed, stripped and cleaned the pse pump as the central locking wasn't working.
Found water in both the pump and the harness/plugs. All sorted now but I think I need to clean out the drains.

Did a B Service and fixed a hole in the intercooler silencer box on the wifes , new to her, C Coupe. Looks like a previous fan belt fiasco had left it rubbing a hole through it ?!
The previous owner sold the car on because they thought they had a major oil leak on the engine as it was covered all over the top and on the front of the underside of the bonnet, which I thought was the oil cap being loose as when I bought the car it wasn't on properly but actually turned out more to be this hole, or slot, blowing crankcase vapour onto the belt and fan and flicking little bit's of oil onto the underside of the bonnet which migrated through the sound deadening to lightly soak the top of the engine. It's surprising how much of a mess a little bit of oil makes and the woman who sold the car said it had been like this for two years ! I washed it all down with warm diesel and jet washed it before taking it out for 4 new tyres, ouch  followed by promptly breaking down on the way home when it started running on three, popped up the mil light and stuttered back at 40mph for the last 2 miles praying it'd make it !

Pulled the coil packs and sure enough oily, waterery fluid down in number 1 and number two where the foam in the cover had soaked it up when I jet washed it :wallbash:. So the cover has now been soaked in detergent, jet washed again and left in the greenhouse to dry out... but at least it's not blowing oil fumes everywhere now :)

Glad to be back at work :D

I had the 7g box fully drained inc the TC and a Bilstein b12 pro kit fitted. My car is marvellous to drive and makes hot hatches dissappear on back roads.

Started one of mine today for the first time in a wet 9 months, battery was totally flat but the diesel starlet battery had just enough juice in it to turn the motor over, just, with a very slow and looooonnnngggg gggggrrrr on the compression stroke, then as if by some preaudained word from the big fella himself it literally burst into life from the slowest successful crank over I do believe I've ever heard. Settles into a flat and smooth idle - no misfires, no hunting. Two increadably slow crank overs on a single keyturn, bursts into life then settles to a perfect idle - how does it do that?

Never before have I thought "Oh good grief this does not sound good at all" then a "yay this is surpurb!!!" moment. :):)
