- This and that.
And some of you may have had, and I don't want to suggest otherwise, but listen to this:
I am going to be without my Mercedes for at least six weeks. Why?
Long story, but I am in Germany with a client. Often I fly over, but this week, I drove. After all, that's what the car is good at .
Yesterday evening, I dropped the car at the hotel, approximately 1/4 mile from the client's office, and then walked back to the office to go for dinner at a nearby restaurant (also walking distance).
Immediately outside the office is a pedestrian crossing, and it was whilst negotiating that, that I got run over.
I don't want to say too much (lawyers are involved), but the driver had (I am pretty sure) no lights on, and it was (definately) dark and raining. She says I was not on the crossing, but the independent witness says I was, and the lights were with me.
So I spent last night in the krankenhaus after having my dislocated shoulder reset. I now have to fly home today for an operation to put a plate in my shoulder, because it's fractured, and apparently, I won't be able to drive, or do much else, for 4-6 weeks. So the Mercedes will be stranded here until I can fly back to collect it.
It could have been worse, and I am glad it's only my arm, not my head that broke her windscreen; and at least I am sufficiently mobile to be able to go home.
But it's quite a nice restaurant, and I was looking forward to it....
