Greetings all. Just picked the nearest best fit for this topic so apologies in advance if I have mis posted.
I have a CLK 320 elegance bought in the winter and of course now I want to use it with the roof down it packs up. At first it was the roll bar that wouldn't raise with the canvas retracting then no roll bar lift and then the motor just carrying on til the button was released , leaving the cover up.
Then I had a fiddle. Consensus on this and other forums was bow limit switch not closing for whatever reason preventing roll bar and cover to commence their 'roof down' operations. Found the limit switch, had a fiddle couldnt see anything obvious, put it back, then it wouldn't work after that.
I've clearly made it worse, my question is - how much have you folks had to shell out for anything remotely similar. Any recommendations on getting a diagnostic done so I can at least make an informed choice as to whether this is one for a home gamer or best left to a specialist. A specialist who needs to be reasonably priced I might had. This baby's Main Stealer days are over!
That's it. This is my tale of woe, point and laugh at will, however, any thoughts, suggestions, help or advice very gratefully received
