Can anyone recommend a specialist in Hampshire who can update Audio 20 firmware?
Also, any idea on rough cost?

If you enter the class and year of your car into this link you will get a page where you can download any firmware updates.

Home @ Mercedes-Benz Connectivity

I think all you need to do is save the download to your PC, then burn a copy to a CD and let it run in your Audio20.

If you don't want to do this yourself, a little further up the M3 in Lightwater, Comand Online can assist. The phone # is in the link below.

Do you have to burn the update to CD or could you download it to a USB stick?

Cheers. Bonkers as can’t remember the last time i used a laptop with a cd drive!

What age is your car ? if its a newer car has to be done with Online Xentry Diagnosis (and comand.co.uk can do it, they are very close to the Hampshire border with Surrey - M3 Junction 3)

It’s a 2014 C class coupe.

That needs online Xentry Diagnosis and someone with the firmware disks too - i.e. www.comand.co.uk

Thanks very much. Thought it sounded too good to be true that I could do it myself!
But why does the MB connectivity website I referred to above allow people to download firmware updates?

That seems to have updated for the plug in adapters for the phone / MM system and not actually for the head units. When you do a firmware update on the newer units it talks to MB central systems so they know the update has been done and downloads the configuration (which can change between different software versions) - also everything in the audio system gets updated (so if you have HK, the HK amp or DAB etc etc)

The updates are now also large given how complex the systems are ..

I am assuming it's a W204 with Audio20?

If so then you can also ask Comand Online about an upgrade to COMAND NTG4.7... and speakers upgrade.... heated front seats.... reverse camera...

(they have done all of the above to my car and I am very pleased with the result :thumb:)

...and there's also DAB, though I did not go for this particular retrofit.

Yeah it’s a W204 but came very well specced. Has Comand, heated seats and reverse camera as well as DAB and pano roof. Think it was a ‘special edition’?

Upgraded speakers? Have to say I’ve been really impressed by the standard set up.

Did you choose not to have DAB installed due to the dropping out issues? That’s why I’m asking about the firmware as it keeps losing reception on ours. Had the same issue in my 2012 W212, but had he firmware updates and it’s fixed it up a treat.

Hi jay,

I’ve got the same issue, when on dab it cuts off every 5 mins and says device unavailable !

Have you found a fix ?

Thanks

Richard do you have WhatsApp ?
I really need to sort this !
Thanks in advance

Harry, call Becky in the morning on 01276 474900 she will book you in
Cheers

I just checked your site !

Is it £600 for the update to fix this issu?

Nope ! (not sure what you found on our site, perhaps a new DAB module?) Firmware update is needed. I don't have access to the diary from here (home).
