Woke this morning, opened the curtains, looked at my car and thought 'that star looks a bit wonky?'. Lo and behold some swine has tried to wrestle the star from my bonnet, without much luck.....

Sorry to hear that, it happens to most of us at some time or other. I have lost two previously.
The good news is that they are easy to replace and fairly cheap from MB if it is damaged.

I have been on to it already and my friend that works for Mercedes has ordered me one for £25. Don't know if that's cheap, but I expected it to be about £100...

I've had one nicked off my old E500 estate, and a nice old German gentleman who saw me polishing mine earlier this year said his was regularly nicked in the 50s when he was in Latin America (Brazil perhaps?). So I am glad they didn't get yours.

Fitted my new star today 
The feed from the battery to electrify it didn't work,
it gave my Dad a few jolts trying to put it on though
