Somebody reversed into my GLC Coupe at the petrol station

True. Chips Away are all independents too and do an outstanding job. Picking a random independent without any guarantee of quality can be a bit of a risk, though. With respect, you haven't seen what the result of your independent is yet and "weather permitting" doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Chips Away franchisee here has a proper indoor facility where weather isn't a factor.

Yes I am.

The other driver apologised and the OP accepted the apology as being the end of the matter. He (I assume it's a he, as he would undoubtedly not be making such a fuss if the other driver was male) did not ask for any further details and chose at that time not to take any further action. He has now changed his mind without any proof that the damage he has now discovered was caused at that time. If "he" manages to discover who she is, I will happily act for her pro bono. "He" doesn't have a leg to stand on.
You will go straight into the famous DSM ignore list.

Bet you are gutted;)

Weather permitting tells me the chap knows what he is doing and not just wanting to do a bodge job. I have used this guy before on my old silver metallic CLA and once he finished you couldn't tell the difference. Have recommended him to many and all rate him. The double the cost from chips away pays for his nice garage no doubt. Also wanting the car for 2 days wasn't cost effective for me

But the OP doesn't want to. Now he only wants to "get opinions on improving the look of it myself" apparently!
This was my initial post if you scroll back up you’ll see this for yourself. Not that hard

I don’t really understand why you continue this argument. My very first post explains exactly WHY I started this thread

I did indeed read your previous posts. You stated very clearly: "I’m getting CCTV tomorrow, however unsure if it’s worth the hassle? I don’t want to go through my insurance to claim. Unless I requested their details via the DVLA?"

"Without being rude", if you don't want to try to claim something from this person that you let off, then why do you want to request her details from the DVLA? Do you just want to stalk/harass/bully her into giving you money?

If, as you now claim, all you are interested in is advice on removing the damage yourself, then why ask people how to trace the other driver????

Just go to Chips Away and get it fixed like a grown up.
With all your respect if I can afford to drive a car like this then I am definitely not after their money to fix this.

...which was followed by a number of posts where you tried to find out how you could renege on your word. What a gentleman.
Number of posts? Go back and have another look. It was just a single post actually. Seriously bore off, you’re like a bug on my shoulder.

But so many have already advised you what to do. Go to Chips Away or a good indie, get it fixed and move on.

You've been a member on here for less than 24 hours and already you're insulting people. If you are so incredibly wealthy and so uninterested in getting money out of other people, why then are you so obsessed with hounding this poor woman - sorry, "lady" - over such a minor incident, which you have no proof is even related to the tiny scratch on your bumper?

Hardly obsessed. Seriously go back and have another read. You sound so desperate to be involved so you continue to post even though you don’t make any sense. You will find that you in fact started this whole argument by posting your irrelevant opinion.

Ah, but you asked for opinions, that's the problem!!! :D

And then as soon as someone dared suggest that you had no claim, you responded so violently. Anger management classes might help.

Certainly not your opinion which is irrelevant to my question. :-)

Take it from jdrrco - he was unfortunate to be in a position where he now knows a thing or two about making claims and taking legal action.

OP - this is generally a really friendly forum eg on page 1 my instincts were to "repair" that for you as you are Manchester based HOWEVER as the replies have evolved (and some from trusted and helpful members - not all!), I will keep out of it suffice to say .............a local bodyshop should be able to sort that out in an afternoon for £100cash, as no paint required.

If you are a lawyer (legal clerk?) then you need to revise your training. Also your syntax and grammar are unlike any I have seen from someone in the legal professions!

He discovered further damage when he had appropriate conditions in which to properly examine the vehicle and had a prior admission of liability........!

Just for clarity I checked this with a friend who is a Solicitor....
