What do you folks make of this for some entertainment for the kids?

Its cheap, and would probably look ok as well. I'm tempted...

Installation should be quite easy, just needs 12V power and fitting to the arm rest.

My two have portable players on their laps - which mean they are not left in the car when parked - this might get nicked

However, I would check how many headphone outputs it has unless you have a y plug adapter unless you want to hear the films aswell
Otherwise, it would look pretty cool (until it was nicked - sorry, but I think it would be unless removable)

Fair comment - chances of it being nabbed are quite high as its on dissplay. Portable DVD players are quite cheap these days so it might just be easier to go down that route...
