I drive a North American SLK 350, 2015 and have had to replace the spark plug ignition coils on two cylinders lately. #6 took me about 3 hours. Anyone else experience coil issues, thought these would last longer.

What is the make of the coil packs that went down? Genuine Mercedes last longer than aftermarket coil packs .

These were coil packs that were original to car.

Your car employs MSI multi spark ignition which may put more strain on the coils. Its usually the ones at the rear that fail as they run a little hotter in the engine compartment
