hi all,

am looking to diy change my spark plugs in the next week or so..... have heard about a tool that makes removal more easy..... anyone know who sells these in the uk?

Hiya Lee
I think what you are looking for is a tool to remove the plug caps? All you need is a 17 mm spanner to aid removal of caps, then it is the correct plug socket with a small extension.
Regards
Andy

Yep i used the 17mm spanner trick on my car.

...and don't forget the Band Aids for your knuckles! It is a terrible job and probably worthwhile letting someone else do it.

Have fun!

it isn't as easy as a normal 4 cylinder... about 3-4 hour job... removing coil packs and all sorts... if its your thing though, then have fun!

ha it was fun and games mate took 4.5 hours (including lots of tea, time on here, getting covered in green dye from the aircon pipes, broken spark plugs.....)

all done now and i would do it again:eek: was fiddly but straight forward, used molegrips to get the leads off.

And so you should be. Dealers charge in the region of £300 labour and £9 per plug for this job.
