Speaker exchange

Hi all. I have a 98 clk comp and have changed my head unit and the speakers cannot handle the stereo. Can the speakers be upgraded and how big a job is it to remove old speakers / door cards etc..... Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Anything can be done, hopefully easier in your car than it is in a W204!

Adaptors for the front will allow you to fit any 165mm aftermarket speakers.

For the rear you can propably make some yourself from 19mm MDF (I did for my 202).

But have you thought about fitting a sub? Without having to handle all the bass the existing speakers MAY sound a lot better, and the bass certainly will.

Did you change the door speakers? gonna update all my speakers in the CLK and wanna know If I'm likely to break anything whilst doing so.
