My friend has just had her car sprayed by some little urk with an almost empty white can of paint. She has a silver car. They sprayed up the side wing on the drivers side and she wants to know if there's anything she can use to try to get it off?

It looks like the can was running out because it's not that heavy - it's only a light covering.

Any ideas what could get it off?

You could try Claying the car with an agressive clay bar, It will take an age tho!!! I removed a little off-spray from the rear light cluster with it and it took arms like popeye to complete,
Depending on what type of paint it is then thiners should shift it, also dependant on what color of car it is then if it has a top / clearcoat it shouldn't damage the colour coat underneath the clear - Maybe trying a tar and glue remover that contains some thinners would be in ideal starting point.
Failing all the above wetsanding would shift it no problem - with say 3000 grit (very light) but then you would need a machine polisher and good polish to remove the wetsanding marks - but it would befinetly work if paint from the spray can isnt think - which you say isn't

Get the car mopped pro, and pay the small sum;)

Langka will get it off with ease without effecting the factory paint underneath.

Literally a wipe on wipe off job even if the spray paint has been left to harden for a few days. (I had exactly the same problem once)

I remember a guy who was using the Langra to fill a load of stone chips on his bumper..... long story short... he needed lots of the paint and the "paint remover" and found out that the paint remover was infact some sort of agent that's mixed in with many of the circuit board cleaners, so off he went to RS or maplins and bought some (cant remember the proper name of the stuff but i could find out) and bought paint from another supplier only to find out that the "paint remover" only removed the paint that was supplied with the langra kit, so I would be not so sure of the Langra route.
As always I could be wrong - worth £13 to try it perhaps , but then again £12 would buy you 5 litres of AS tar & glue remover that would work.

Langka is not sold as a kit including any paint... it works with most if not all touch up paints. It also works with cellulose spray.

It may well be that the active ingredient can be found in another product, that I cannot say. What I do know is that a very small amount of this will do the job.

I had this happen to my BMW. How odd. I recall I used T-cut, but I caught it almost wet on a freshly washed car (literally).

Thinners? i think might paint work?

If you havent got a polisher, you will have to use either Tcut or rubbing compound. How thick is the overspray??

It looks like the can was almost empty - some of it she could actually rub with her finger and it came off - but there's some which is just not moving like that. So it's like a weak cloudy kind of spray - I'll try to get a photo of it to show you guys

I would try the "trade standard" a tube of Ferecla G3 finishing compound. very mild abrasive action should remove the layer of paint in question. You will find it at any reputable motor factor.Just take it slowly

Can of thinners and a rag should do the trick.

Same thing happened to my friends car - white spirit worked as the paint was only a few hours old. You'll do more damage with T-Cut unless you know how to use it.

Petrol, thinners or cutting paste should shift it no problem.

A long time ago a work collegue had someone 'spray' his car. He used Jif. now known as Cif...
