I know a 3rd thread. This one is just for your experience with the unit.
Are you still happy, etc etc
PLEASE only Post if you have a unit.
Do NOT post if you are a stirrer:crazy:

I am a little disapointed. (Before my GBox issues)
The 1st drive was WOW... maybe too much sensitivity
This settled down after a few drives a round.
Lately though I believe the ECU has learned to even make the response with this unit fitted "nearly" as bad as before fitment.
It still brings in the throttle a bit earlier but kickdown is about the same as without it.
I did a readaption of throttle and that brought it back to life but only for a short time.

I removed it a week a go to see how car drove (before Gbox issue) and there was not a discerinble differnce:(

I was so pleased with the unit 1st fitted. if only the learning could be removed or reduced on my model

I am still hapy with mine.
I do a gearbox reset once a week and can't see that it has calmed down really.
I still think SB:rock:

I need to do a gearbox reset but still happy with mine.:D

Me to, i change gearbox setting when i drive it .

That gearbox reset does not actually work. I did a test with one at my GTG.

The adaption data that it is supposed to reset is the same before and after.

Are you sure it re-sets the gbox?

I have checked all the info I have and I have nothing that actually confirms this works.

There is nothing on WIS about it and that is the MB bible.

As far as I know I can only do it with the Star.

I am pleased that you have come into this, as the gearbox has no memory what so ever,as with the odd fault the car has to be driven to the code reader without turning the ignition off, if you turn off all is gone instantly.

The gearbox talks to the engine ECU and there is a short term memory there, and thats it

Actually Maclom the gearbox control unit does have a fault memory. I read them everyday.

I have just had one with a gearbox fault and there was a speed sensor fault in the memory wit the ignition on and engine not running as a stored fault.

Definately gearbox memory. You can view hte codes on Star.

As far as the throttle pot, I didn't mean to re adapt the gearbox, just to reset the throttle parameters for full throttle and no throttle.

Thank you Black, yes I did know that some faults codes could be stored (limited) perhaps I should have said accessible memory out side STAR

My sprintbooster is also great. A Throttle/gearbox reset every now and again helps but otherwise its wonderful and Mercedes I drive without it feel slow including the W204.

Mines working fine.

Just need to do a gearbox/throttle reset every month and its like new each time!

I'm still very happy with mine, I'd still recommend it to anyone

Investigating this further I am led to believe the resistive throttle pot cars do not always seem to get the same results as the Hall effect type throttle's.
After a ME readaption using Carsoft it works again as when 1st fitted, will see after another week. Maybe mine has an agressive learning ability :(

Careful wilth the readaptation using carsoft. I had a nightmare of a time when I did it using carsoft.....there was absloutely no throttle response from the pedal whatsoever and the engine idled in a very irratic way.

For a moment I thought I had blown the ECU and tried resetting a few times again using carsoft and the car suddenly came back to normal. Im not the only one who has experienced this using Carsoft so beware ! I don't trust this software.
