Hi, first post from me. I'm about to start to strip my 2007 sprinter engine (646) 213Cdi which is pressurising the cooling system to check head gasket, head etc. Can anyone guide me to anywhere for any info please?
Im looking at top end and camshafts removal in particular. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Good morning Steve.
Happy new year.
Appreciate your reply.
Thanks, Chris

Hi,
Happy New Year ...... I found this also.. a rebuild, but should be helpful.

I also found on Ebay a company that will completely rebuild your head for £240, if that is needed.
Before you embark on the rebuild, I presume you have pressurised the system yourself and listed / looked for evidence of the coolant being pressurised. It of course almost a certainty to be the head gasket, although a mate of mine had a Sprinter that had a crack in the head, and he just sold it cheap to get rid of it and bought another as a new head was going to be ££££££.
Seems also that the OM646 was fitted in other vehicles, so not solely the Sprinter.

Good luck with your repair.

Hi Steve. Its a bit of a strange one as no oil contamination and only happens on runs of about 10 miles or more. Only topping up every few days. I had seen the video of checking the head before replacement thank you. Im more concerned about the cam timing than anything else. The rest is just time consuming basic mechanical.
Thanks for your input. Stay well in 2019.
Chris
