Just changed the multifunction switch on the 124. Was going to replace the steering wheel with a refurbished one but talking to the dealer they said I should also change the SRS ring/clockspring. They said risky to remove the old one from the wheel as they can crack and are then useless.
Is this correct advice? If so does anyone know where to get one or able to get me a part number. Dealer was unable to locate a part number.
VIN WDB1240882F320657
Thanks
Nigel

I've swapped a few wheels over on 124's before and never had a problem.

Hello. What they probably meant is the horn contacts, as they have to be swapped over. they are easy to break when removing them. The srs contacts are on a different ring removable by 3 small screws.

nope chatting cobblers. Easy to remove, piece of cake.

try your local breakers.

i usually use drondsfields Merc breakers. They deliver anywhere.
