SRS warning light

Mercedes C Class 1.8 C180 Kompressor Classic SE Auto (2006)

Only picked this car up yesterday for the first time after purchasing.
This morning when I started the car, the SRS warning light was up on the dashboard.
I phoned the garage when I got to work who told me to bring it back for a computer check. On the way to the garage, the SRS warning light flashed off, on and then off again, so by the time I got to garage the fault light was not on anymore !
They're going to have a look anyway but has anyone got any experience of this fault ? e.g. Could it be a bad connection somewhere ? Is it to do with the fact that I live on a steep hill ?!

The airbag light came on on my W203 and it turned out that it needed a new airbag ECU (£500) It just plugs in, but you can't get a second hand one as it's coded to the cars main ECU when installed.
