This morning I had a restraint/visit workshop warning, along with the SRS light staying on. Is this likely to be something simple/easy to rectify? Or could it be a number of things?

Can be anything from a dodgy seat belt, passenger seat sensor, etc etc .............. needs a MB Star session to be honest :)

My experience was that a visit to an indy with the ability to reset the light will be required to identify the problem. In my case the car was jump started which damaged the SRS control unit located behind the ash tray area. A send hand replacement was fitted, cost for part and fitting and recoding was 150 pounds from excellent specialists locally I hope you dont have any such problems.

Hopefully I can get top my local indy today - the Airbag "off" light has come on too today!!

I thought at first these cars had electrics made in France by the amount of problems everyone is having with them, if you have a problem with a PC you just restart and it fixes itself most times we have to go to a technician with equipment costing megabucks just to reset a srs sensor, my srs is on but not airbag, at least they are separate on a W203, is there a better seat membrane that fits from another car such as a Volvo as the membranes seem to be the weakest link, it was reset at the last mot but has reappeared in the last month and stayed on since

SRS and airbag light are the same thing. With the SRS light on the air bags will not work.

Take mother in law for crash test drive see if the air bag goes off :)

I have found a lot of cars fitted with seat membrane emulators to bypass the SRS error and make the airbags function without the need for the weight sensor.

my seat wiring had been dislodged I have reconnected it but light is still on,will it have to be reset with star or is there another way,

Ok, so I've just heard back from the garage. They've cleared the error, and so far it's ok. If it does keep coming back, then I'll need a new airbag ECU.
I asked how much, to which he replied "it won't be cheap"

The quote will be waiting for me when I collect the car after work.

Bugger.....
