STAR lowering

lowering links and it can be done, just not that many brave people in the UK to do it
unlike the states

Greg, all depends how much you lower by. more you lower, more neg camber etc. the more the tyres will wear on the edge, some models (ie w211) straight adjustable camber arms are no good as the lower the car gets the more the arb gets in the way, some cases of the older MBTEC ones snapping in the states hence they have been redesigned a few times.

Id like to see how Clives ones turn out

No one seems to have mentioned running boards!

My mother is a right shortarse and got in and out my Pathfinder fine with running boards. Theres no chance she would have without.

mmm i appologise then.. so how much can you lower with Star as i'll get olli to give it another go before the links...

The US forums indicate that the settings will revert to standard if you don't change the start height - some people had been changing the settings in the wrong area. I think an inch might also be the most I have seen recommended by STAR - too much might also cause settings to revert as has been suggested.

Looks like it's not going to be possible for me at the moment.

They are quite narrow and I didn't want them.

Is there any need to have the vehicle running at a lower ride height, surely, like my local busses, all that is needed is a 'drop' button to lower the car when stationary? That way all the geometry could stay standard and entry and exit made as easy as possible.

Not sure if this would fit the bill but I'm sure a quick email to the manufacturer would help.... RENNtech V3 Digital Suspension Lowering Module for Mercedes | RENNTECH MERCEDES

We have running boards on our W164 ML and it's a pain to get in and out without them, whereas our W163 ML is a doddle. I think it's a combination of the side cushions on the seat, and the seat being mounted further inboard.

With running boards it's much easier but friends and relatives seem to think they shouldn't use them and prefer to struggle??!!

Good thought.

LoweringModule.com looks interesting.

All of the products on that webpage are available cheaper if you go direct.

good luck!

Could you let me know how to go direct? I cannot seem to find the manufacturer if it is not them?
