starter motor E320 CDI

When i start the car especially when cold, i hear noise from the engine, sound like vouououou!!!!!Itold is the starter motor.If i open it and clean th e fly wheel which they think, possidle need lubrikant it will de ok?
Or isbest to replace it all together?

You must never oil the starter ring or pinion

Not sure about that, there is a proper grease available that the dealer uses on some cars.

I would certainly look at the motor before replacing it.

Is the sound coming when starter motor is turning or soon after angine starts? If it's the latter, I believe it may be the alternator that's in full load to compensate for the batery drain.
