Starter motor query

As I have replaced most of the other bits under the bonnet I thought I may as well go the whole hog a put a new starter in to give a nice crisp start (C250D).

Absolute pain to get out, top bolt up against bulkhead but it's out with one slight problem - it looks totally different to the OEM part supplied.

It fits in the 'ole ok and would probably bolt up but what concerns me is its half the weight and size circumference wise.

I am told this is the replacement part (not by MB but parts supplier), any thoughts - have they shrunk and made them more efficient?

Had confirmation from the supplier that it is the correct model so went ahead and fitted it this morning.

I have to admit that I was extremely sceptical being so light and roughly half the diameter but this was unfounded, a quick flick of the key and she turned over a lot faster and fired immediately

If anyone needs a starter to get reconditioned and swap out let me know.
