Steering Wheel

My "Esprit" C-Class came with the standard 390mm, thin vinyl steering wheel (with silver star), which IMHO feels pretty insignificant and unispiring to use.  I'd like to upgrade it to a smaller/chunky "leather" item and am hoping someone can offer recommendations for an (affordable) upgrade.

The W202/W210 accessory booklet lists the factory options in 390/380/370mm sizes plus various colours etc, but am not really fussed about dual tone leather or wood - black leather is fine (oohhh-urrr).

Also, if I opt for another MB wheel can I still use the original airbag and centre pad thingy ??

depending on the design you might need a new airbag also!  Steering wheels from MB are awfully expensive :/

I know what u mean about that non leather 202 wheel . It was wall worth the £183.12 to have it leather covered from the factory.

Have you looked into getting it leather covered? Maybe v12 knows somone who can help.

All i have now, is a burr walnut wood/ cream leather wheel, very expensive...

I think i may have had a black one come in, ill check the stock.

Just so happens i have creme leather ....

Much are you talking about <img src="http://www.mbclub.co.uk/iB_html/non-cgi/emoticons/confused.gif" border="0" valign="absmiddle" alt='???'>

I'll find out, its actually meant for a S-Class (w140) but can fit the W202.

If you have ever seen one, you will know the actual wheel is not cream (mushroom) but it is a browny colour, same as dash.

V12:  any luck with the black leather wheel ??
