Stereo upgade being done...

I am about to have my command stereo system upgraded im my Sl55 AMG.. I am getting a top of the range Alpine DoubleDin TV/DVD Sat Nav unit. Cant Wait will be much better and look much better too. Steve

Hi Guys
My Audio is being done thursday. I won't be losing any features/information at all. I am having it wired up so I can still use the steering wheel control for volume and track change etc. Will keep you all posted. Steve

You lose the cluster display for audio and navigation when fitting an aftermarket unit.

hi steve....did you get you head unit upgrade completed?..If so, after some usage has it

Alpine did do a unit to enable cluster display, i know because i have one for the w211 for sale in the classifieds they must have one for the SL

Hi All. Yes the install went to plan. Had a complete change because as you probably know the Bose audio system is fibre optic. I opted for the superb JL audio components in the front, then I opted for a JL 6" sub woofer which was custom built into the compartment where the CD multichanger was. I have a 4-channel JL audio amplifier powering them. Sounds amazing! Will get some pictures added asap. Thanks Guys. Steve

Hi All
I have finally had chance to upload the pics of the new audio, tv and sat nav install. It looks and sounds great. They are the new alpine INA-910R top of the range double din, TV and Sat Nav head unit. JL Audio Component front speakers JL Audio 6" subwoofer with a custom made box and a custom fit JL Amplifier.
The head unit also has full i-pod connectivity, so all of my audio and films can be played through the head unit. I LOVE IT!. lots of work involved to install this but the guys and ICE Direct in Peterborough have done a great Job. "Well worth it"
